REJECTED: You Are Hot! (for allowing “user content”)
You are Hot! has been rejected – seemingly because someone at Apple *had a theory* that it might – one day – fill up with porn. So, it’s been rejected:
“We’ve reviewed your application and determined that we cannot post this version of your iPhone application to the App Store because it contains objectionable content and is in violation of Section 3.3.14 from the iPhone Developer Program License Agreement.”
Well. The email says it “contains” bad content, and is “in violation”. Hmm. What was the objectionable content? Did Apple include screenshots? Text?
“No. The application has no content at all. It’s a place where people can add new content, but it was empty when it was submitted. Moreover, the app has a filter to avoid people upload offensive content. I think what they don’t like its the name, since there are many other simmilar apps, but with less “objectionable” names.”
Does having a moderation system save you? Again, apparently not:
Moreover, we have included an offensive control system that automatically removes any obscene, pornographic or defamatory content.
I’m hoping Entropycs will re-submit this one, with some additional notes to Apple pointing out the obvious problems with their “We see the future! It’s all baaaad! So … You’re rejected” argument. It seems likely – given the many similar apps that work like this – that they might get through with a bit of argument.

Entropycs should simply point to Opera Mini being allowed, in that case. Or Safari, for that matter.
